Corus Entertainment
Corus Entertainment has acquired the Canadian rights to British indie producer Kudos’ three-part drama Capital. Corus bought the rights from Fremantle International, which is handling international distribution on the series. The series is an adaptation of a novel by John Lanchester about the interconnected lives of a group of Londoners who live on the same street. Starring Toby Jones, Rachael Stirling and Radoslaw Kaim, Capital is written by BAFTA award-winning screenwriter Peter Bowker, who executive produced the series alongside Derek Wax and Lucy Richer. Corus has not yet announced which channel will carry the series.

Club Illico
Club Illico’s parent company Quebecor Content has inked a deal with NBCUniversal Television & New Media Distribution Canada that will see the French-language SVOD service add a number of NBCUniversal titles to its slate. Film that will be available on the streaming site include French versions of Fast and Furious 6, Despicable Me 2, Kick Ass 2, R.I.P.D, The Purge, The Purge: Anarchy, A Million Ways to Die in the West, and 47 Ronin. 

Hulu
Hulu has picked up the exclusive U.S. streaming rights to CBC’s six-part miniseries The Book of Negroes. Read more here.

Versailles
Canada/France coproduction Versailles has secured a pair of U.S. distribution deals, with the U.S. version of Netflix and channel Ovation TV both picking up the first season of the show. Read more here.
