Lionsgate inks deal to develop mobile games based on the Now You See Me franchise, Black Fawn's Bite (pictured) gets U.S. distribution, plus more deals of the week.

Lionsgate is partnering separately with Side-Kick VR and mobile developer Kiwi to produce two mobile games based on the film franchise Now You See Me. The game Lionsgate is developing with Side-Kick tasks users with uncovering hidden objects and clues from the world of the film. The project with Kiwi is an interactive, narrative-driven game where users must interact with characters from the film. Both games are set to launch this summer, following the release of the Now You See Me 2.

PNP
Vancouver-based distributor Pacific Northwest Pictures has acquired all Canadian rights (outside theatrical) to writer/director Kris Elgstrand’s Songs She Wrote About Peoples She Knows. Read more here.

Toronto’s 9 Story Media Group has licensed the second seasons of animated series Camp Lakebottom, Numb Chucks and Peg + Cat to Australian pubcaster ABC. Read more here.

L.A.-based distributor Shout! Factory has acquired the distribution rights to Black Fawn Films’ horror feature Bite. Read more here.

Monterey Media
California-based distributor Monterey Media has acquired all U.S. rights to Andrew Currie’s comedy feature The Steps. The distributor plans to release the film in the U.S. in June. Read more here.
