The upcoming fourth season of Beauty and the Beast will be the series’ last, U.S. net The CW confirmed to Playback Daily.

The Canadian-certified production is a copro between CBS and Take 5 Productions and Whizbang Films. Production will wrap next month up on the final season of the show, which is shot in Toronto at Cinespace Studios. The 13-episode season is currently set to air sometime in the midseason/summer of 2016.

Overall, Take 5 Productions president and CEO John Weber said while The CW made the final decision to not order more episodes, wrapping the series after four seasons also made sense from a creative perspective.

“We did four seasons and 70 episodes. It was a good long run and a very successful show for Toronto. I think it came to a successful conclusion,” Weber told Playback Daily.

Beauty and the Beast is licensed to Shaw Media in Canada, where it airs on Showcase. Executive producers on Beauty and the Beast are Brad Kern, Bill Haber, Paul J. Witt & Tony Thomas, Ron Koslow, Stuart Gillard, Frank Siracusa and Weber.
