Proper Rights
Proper Rights and Boxing Cats Productions have entered into an exclusive, multi-title distribution agreement. With the deal, Proper will handle international distribution and pre-sales for three Boxing Cats projects currently in development with undisclosed North American broadcasters. The names of the shows have not yet been announced, but a statement released by Proper described the shows as a paranormal series, a behind-the-scenes look at some of Canada’s biggest businesses and a survival series based in the Yukon.
CraveTV
CraveTV has added more than 140 HBO comedy specials to its roster, due to begin streaming on June 19. The deal includes nine George Carlin stand-up shows, as well as content from Ellen DeGeneres, Bill Maher, Dave Chappelle, Bob Saget, Ray Romano and Wanda Sykes.
DHX Media
DHX Media’s property Teletubbies is on its way to France after kids broadcaster Gulli picked up the free TV rights to the new version of the show. The channel’s online platform, GulliMax also picked up the non-exclusive VOD rights to the show. Read more about the deal here.
Tricon
Online children’s entertainment service Toon Goggles has picked up a number of Tricon Kids & Family titles, including The Next Star (78 x 60 and 13 x 30), Christmas Dreams (1 x 60) and The Grizzly Cup (7 x 30). Toon Goggles offers on-demand children’s content, such as live-action shows, animations, games, tween news and radio. Its interface allows users to access personally chosen content and contains advertising appropriate for kids.
Entertainment One
Chinese Central Television (CCTV) has picked up the rights for animated preschool property Peppa Pig. The show will debut on channel CCTV 14 Kids on June 23. Read more about the deal here.
Spin Master
The Toronto-based toy company has picked up the master toy licence for Noddy, as well as renewing its licensing agreement with DreamWorks Animation for the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. Read more about the deal here.

Peg + Cat and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood will launch in China after 9 Story Media group and Chinese conglomerate Beijing Sunshine Culture and Communication announced a content partnership. Read more about the deal here.
