Toronto-based Boat Rocker has hired former BBC Studios exec Brad Horvath (pictured) as its VP, content sales, Boat Rocker Studios.
Effective Monday (March 10), Horvath is responsible for leading Boat Rocker’s distribution of scripted and feature documentary content across the U.S. and Latin America, in addition to supporting the company’s overall sales strategy. Based in L.A., he reports to Jon Rutherford, president, global rights, franchise and content strategy.
Prior to joining Boat Rocker, Horvath worked at BBC Studios in L.A. in a number of roles since 2014. His most recent was as VP, content sales and distribution, which he began in October 2021. He has also held sales and acquisitions roles at BBC Studios Canada, Cineflix Rights and Ouat Media.
“As a well-respected executive, with deep industry relationships and strong knowledge of the current marketplace, Brad will be an invaluable resource as we continue growing our global distribution business,” said Rutherford in a statement.
In January, the company tapped Patrick Roberts and former Nelvana exec Mellany Welsh for SVP roles.
