Sci-fi series Orphan Black: Echoes has been cancelled at AMC after one season.
The 10 x 60-minute Orphan Black spinoff was commissioned by AMC Networks in April 2022 and debuted on AMC, AMC+ and BBC America on June 23.
The series is produced and distributed globally by Toronto-headquartered Boat Rocker Media, which also owns the rights to the original series.
Orphan Black: Echoes stars U.S. actor Krysten Ritter as a woman who wakes up from a procedure with no memory of who she is. It is set in the same universe as the original Orphan Black, which saw Regina-born actor Tatiana Maslany win an Emmy for her performance as multiple clones.
Anna Fishko is the series creator and showrunner, with Orphan Black co-creator John Fawcett as director. Executive producers for the series are David Fortier, Ivan Schneeberg, Katie O’Connell Marsh, Nick Nantell, Kerry Appleyard, Fishko and Fawcett.
Orphan Black: Echoes was widely sold ahead of its debut on AMC, with Boat Rocker securing sales in territories such as the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Spain, France, Hong Kong and the Netherlands.
