Serial Maven Studios launches distribution division

The company's debut slate features 12 programs across the nature, lifestyle and documentary genres.

Toronto-headquartered Serial Maven Studios has launched a distribution division, led by CEO Solange Attwood.

The company’s debut slate features premium content in the science, nature, engineering, lifestyle, documentary and kids and family genres, spanning more than 300 hours from producers in the U.K, U.S. and Canada.

Series and single documentaries from platforms including Netflix, Smithsonian, BBC One, HGTV, E! Entertainment, PBS, CBC, Arte, NHK and Discovery.

The twelve new titles include Secrets of Egypt’s Valley of the Whales (1 x 60 minutes; Windfall Films, Rezolution Pictures in association with Handle Productions); Search and Rescue: North Shore (10 x 60 minutes; Peg Leg Films); Cosmic Mysteries (7 x 30 minutes; Deep Field Productions); and the feature doc Tiger 24 (1 x 90-minutes; W Films; pictured).

Two projects hail from prodco Crossing the Line, A Wild Irish Year (4 x 60 minutes) and The Wild Gardener (2 x 60 minutes). Other titles include Gareth Malone’s Easter Passion (2 x 60 minutes, Somersault Studios); and Locals Welcome (10 x 30 minutes, Artifactual Media).

Rounding out the slate are So Surreal: Behind the Mask (1 x 90 minutes; Rezolution Pictures); All It Takes (1 x 120 minutes; Artifactual Media); Her Right to Play (1 x 90 minutes; Goldfinch) and Trading Skills (26 x 11 minutes; Riverbank Pictures).

Serial Maven was launched in early 2024 by Attwood and president Asha Daniere, with Julie Chang joining as COO and executive producer in May.
