Director Annie Bradley has been re-elected chair of the executive board of the Directors Guild of Canada in Ontario (DGC Ontario).
The re-election marks Bradley’s (pictured) third term as chair. An additional seven board positions were also elected at guild’s annual general meeting, which took place on April 7.
Nearly 255 members were present, both in person and virtually, and 198 were represented by proxy, according to a news release. DGC Ontario represents more than 3,500 members.
Newly elected board members include James Gilchrist as assistant directors caucus representative; Marty Dejczak as locations caucus rep; John Dondertman as art caucus rep; and Jo Peìrez as accounting caucus rep.
Tiffany Hsiung has been re-elected as second vice-chair, Jason Washington as membership chair and Orlee Buium as picture editing caucus rep. Anna Beben is DGC Ontario’s first vice-chair.
Outgoing board members this year include assistant directors caucus rep Penny Charter, locations caucus rep John Rakich, art caucus rep Glen Charles Landry, and accounting caucus rep Kathleen Jenkins.
Following the election, the guild said women represent 57% of the positions elected to the executive board.
Bradley, who was elected as the first female chair of DGC Ontario in 2020, said in a statement that “although these are challenging times in our industry, I believe with the guidance of Victoria Harding, our executive director, and the experience of our executive board, we can navigate our membership through the uncharted waters that lie ahead. One thing is for certain: as a union and a collective, we will continue to passionately fight for an industry that protects and values the work we do.”
