Cineflix Media opens Vancouver office, hires Mark Miller to lead

As president of Cineflix Studios Vancouver, Miller will handle the production and coproduction of scripted and unscripted work in the region.

Cineflix Media has opened a production office in Vancouver, bringing on former Thunderbird Entertainment president Mark Miller (pictured) to lead it.

The media company announced Friday (Nov. 3) that has launched the new division, titled Cineflix Studios Vancouver, which will focus on the production of scripted series and movies, as well as factual content. Cineflix is headquartered in Montreal, and also has operations in Toronto, New York, Dublin and London.

Miller will led the division as president, and reports to Glen Salzman, co-founder and CEO of Cineflix Media.

The exec has been part of Vancouver’s production sector for more than a decade. He founded factual content prodco Great Pacific Media with Blair Reekie in 2010, which was acquired by Thunderbird Entertainment in 2014. Miller was named Thunderbird co-president in 2017, and then president in 2018. He left the company in 2021.

“Launching a Cineflix base in Vancouver will open up opportunities to increase our production capabilities and also provide a valuable, ideally positioned coproduction hub for our creative partners in Canada, the west coast of the U.S., and beyond,” said Salzman in a statement, noting that Miller has “a wealth of experience overseeing high-profile, successful scripted and factual productions.”

Miller added that, as president of the new Vancouver office, he will form “close and mutually beneficial relationships with creative partners.”
