Colin Bohm to depart Corus, Troy Reeb assumes expanded role

The broadcaster has eliminated Bohm's role of EVP content and strategy amid a streamline of its programming model.

Corus Entertainment executive Colin Bohm (pictured left) will depart the broadcaster as Troy Reeb (pictured right) takes on an expanded role within the company.

The company announced Thursday (Oct. 19) that Reeb will hold the title of EVP networks and content, effective Nov. 1. As a result, the role of EVP content and strategy has been eliminated, with Bohm to depart Corus on Oct. 31.

In his expanded role, Reeb will now be responsible for Corus’ studio content, in addition to his existing oversight of the company’s broadcast networks, news and audio. The move is a “streamline” of Corus’ programming operating model, according to a news release.

“This evolution aligns with our strategic plan as we make smart changes amidst these challenging times, adapting our business to emerge strong and focused as the current economic and industry uncertainty passes,” said Corus president and CEO Doug Murphy in a statement.

Bohm has been with the company for more than two decades, first joining in 2002, and holding senior roles at Nelvana and Corus Kids before taking on oversight of Corus’ content businesses.

“I am very grateful for my 21 year run at Corus,” said Bohm in a statement to Playback Daily. “It’s a terrific company with amazing people and culture, and great partners around the world. I pass the torch to a very talented colleague Troy Reeb, and I’ll be cheering from the sidelines for the future success of the company and its people.”

The move is the latest of a number of shakeups in Corus’ programming team, which saw the departures of original content executives Kathleen Meek and Maria Knight, among others, in June. Later that month, Murphy told investors that the company’s workforce had been reduced by 8%.
