The Mandalorian hit lightspeed as the series blasted its way to the top of both demand charts midway through its third season.
Disney+’s space western and Star Wars spinoff series The Mandalorian (pictured) was 35.14 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for the week of March 27 to April 2, according to Parrot Analytics. It ranked No. 1 for both digital originals as well as overall TV despite dropping over a point in demand from the week before.
It was an eventful week for series streaming on Crave as Showtime’s Yellowjackets jumped six spots to No. 3 for overall TV with an average of 31.25, up more than seven points after entering the list last week. HBO’s Succession followed closely behind with a similar rise up the charts, clocking in at No. 4 with an average of 31.23, up from No. 7 and gaining nearly seven points in demand average.
Paramount+’s Star Trek: Picard moved up two places to No. 3 for digital originals and one spot to No. 7 for overall TV, up slightly with an average of 25.23. Meanwhile, HBO’s The Last of Us continued its tumble down the overall TV charts following the end of its first season. Coming off a steep decline in demand from the prior week, the post-apocalyptic series dropped nearly 10 points in demand and three more spots to No. 6 with an average of 25.9.
For overall TV, Comedy Central’s South Park was 34.68 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada, falling one spot to No. 2 and more than four points after unseating The Last of Us at the top of the overall TV charts last week.
On the digital side, Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso maintained its No. 2 rank, but fell one spot to No. 5 for overall TV with an average of 30.47, down nearly two points from the week before. Crave original Letterkenny held on to the No. 6 spot despite dropping more than three points in demand with an average of 19.51.
Rounding out the top 10 for digital originals are three new entries, including Disney+’s Star Wars: The Bad Batch (17.47) at No. 8, Netflix’s The Night Agent (16.28) at No. 9 with Paramount+ series Rabbit Hole (16.19) closing out the list at No. 10.

Parrot Analytics calculates its Top 10 lists using Demand Expressions, which are shown by using a metric that demonstrates how much more in-demand the top series are than the average TV show (linear, pay TV, SVOD and AVOD) in Canada. For example, a difference of 1x represents the market average and 10x means a series is 10 times more in demand than the average TV show in this market.
