Hot Sheet: Daisy Jones & the Six cracks digital originals top four

Meanwhile, South Park knocked HBO'sThe Last of Us from No. 1 for the overall TV chart.

On the heels of the release of its season finale and companion album Aurora, which topped Billboard’s Emerging Artists list dated March 18, Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & the Six crooned its way up the demand charts.

The musical drama (pictured), based on the Fleetwood Mac-inspired novel of the same name by Taylor Jenkins Reid, was 25.49 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada for the week of March 20 to 26, according to Parrot Analytics, up more than five points from the week before. The series vaulted three spots to No. 4 for digital originals and entered the overall TV rankings at No. 6.

For overall TV, Comedy Central’s South Park supplanted HBO’s The Last of Us for No. 1, jumping two spots with an average of 38.88, up more than five points. The Last of Us, the Alberta-shot post-apocalyptic drama that streams on Crave, fell to No. 3 after weeks at No. 1 and was 35.45 times more in demand than the average TV series in Canada, dropping nearly nine points from the week before.

Paramount+’s Star Trek: Picard (24.52) came in fifth for digital originals and moved up a spot to No. 8 for overall TV. HBO’s Succession (25.38) and Showtime’s Yellowjackets (24.1) entered the overall TV rankings at No. 7 and No. 9, respectively. All three series are available to stream on Crave in Canada.

On the digital originals side, Disney+’s Star Wars spinoff The Mandalorian maintained its No. 1 spot and ranked No. 2 for overall TV with an average of 36.62, down more than two points from the prior week.

Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso (32.31) upped demand and held firm to No. 2 for digital and No. 4 for overall TV, while Netflix’s Shadow and Bone (27.28) jumped two spots with a nearly five point increase in demand to claim the No. 3 ranking for digital originals as well as No. 5 for overall TV.

Crave’s Letterkenny (22.83) dropped three spots to No. 6 for digital originals, down more than three points from the prior week, while Prime Video’s Swarm (14.69) entered the list at No. 10.
