Toronto-based boutique media company CosMedia has signed a distribution deal with Montreal-based prodco Incendo as part of the launch of a Latin American (LatAm) distribution arm.
The new division, revealed from Content Americas in Miami on Wednesday (Jan. 25), will focus on localizing Canadian film and series IP and delivering them to the LatAm market. The launch was bolstered by a new distribution deal with Montreal-based prodco Incendo to represent its catalogue of Canadian movies to Latin American buyers.
Films heading for LatAm markets as part of the deal hail from a variety of populist genres and include the Incendo-produced rom-com Be Mine, Valentine (pictured).
CosMedia previously announced a major distribution deal with Fremantle back in 2021.
CosMedia operates across three key verticals – content, production and distribution – with expertise in FAST (free, ad-supported streaming TV), SVOD, AVOD, network and cable. It also works in content acquisition, content licensing and production, according to a news release.
“Canadian producers like Incendo are behind some of the most-watched movies commissioned for TV audiences in the U.S. and abroad, and our goal is to create partnerships and a pipeline to deliver best-in-class titles with expert localization to audiences across Latin America,” said Cosentino, CosMedia president and former content, programming and production leader for CTV and Crave, in a statement.
