Roku greenlights two holiday original films from Incendo

Among the films is Jingle Bell Wedding, a sequel to last year’s Jingle Bell Love.

The Roku Channel has commissioned two original holiday films from Montreal- and Toronto-based prodco Incendo.

The greenlights include Jingle Bell Wedding (pictured), a sequel to Jingle Bell Love which marked the start of Incendo’s partnership with Roku, and Merry Little Mystery. The originals, produced by Incendo in collaboration with Roku, were filmed in Montreal earlier this spring. Canadian broadcast and streaming details for both films are yet to be announced, an Incendo spokesperson told Playback Daily.

Incendo’s Graham Ludlow, Kaleigh Kavanagh and Shari Segal serve as executive producers for both films. Morgan Pichinson and Sabrina Lyall oversee the projects on behalf of Roku Originals. Incendo is handling international distribution outside of the U.S.

Jingle Bell Wedding sees original creator Daren Flam and Stefanie Black return as writers alongside Quebec director Anne De Léan. Joey McIntyre (New Year’s Eve) and Calgary-born actor Michelle Morgan (Heartland) reprise their roles, with the new film focused on a New Year’s Eve wedding upended by a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity. Motion Entertainment’s Richard Foster and Chet Fenster are additional executive producers on the film.

Jingle Bell Love debuted on the Roku Channel in the U.S. on Nov. 18, 2024. It came to CBC and CBC Gem in Canada on Dec. 5.

Merry Little Mystery is directed by Quebec’s Caroline Labrèche and written by Casie Tabanou and Alison Spuck. It tells the story of a woman attempting to foil a determined reporter trying to reveal her identity as a small town secret Santa. The film stars American Idol winner Jordin Sparks (Sparkle) and Canadian actor Keon Alexander (The Night Agent).
