Hot Sheet: The Amazing Race Canada maintains its lead

The CTV reality competition attracted roughly 1.54 million viewers for the week of Aug. 22 to 28.

CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada continues to lead the pack on the national TV chart.

The reality series (pictured) hosted by Olympic gold medallist Jon Montgomery and produced by Insight Productions, a Boat Rocker company, has ranked at No. 1 on linear network and specialty channels for the week of Aug. 22 to 28, according to Numeris. The Amazing Race Canada amassed 1.536 million viewers for the period – a drop from the previous week’s 1.747 million viewers.

CTV evening news has also maintained its No. 2 spot on the national chart for the period, with 1.162 million viewers – a slight increase in viewership compared to the previous week’s 1.136 million.

The remaining top five for the national chart are: NBC’s America’s Got Talent on Citytv at No. 3 with 1.125 million viewers, followed by the Toronto Blue Jay’s regular season on Sportsnet with 1.086 million viewers. CBS’ Big Brother came in at No. 5 with 999,000 viewers on Global.

Meanwhile, the American procedural drama 9-1-1 has landed at No. 1 on the Quebec francophone list with 658,000 viewers on TVA – an increase compared to the previous week’s 588,000 viewers. Radio-Canada’s comedy Discussions avec mes parents came in at No. 2 with 634,000 viewers, followed by the reality competition series La poule aux oeufs d’or with 617,000 viewers on TVA.
