Hot Sheet: Amazing Race Canada picks up the pace

The CTV reality competition series has increased its momentum, attracting more viewers in its third episode compared to the season eight premiere.

dsc7930CTV’s The Amazing Race Canada has continued its winning streak three weeks running.

The reality competition series, produced by Boat Rocker’s Insight Productions, remains at No. 1,  attracting 1.768 million viewers for the week of July 18 to 24, according to Numeris. That number is an increase from the season eight premiere, which brought in 1.695 million viewers.

Global’s Departure (Shaftesbury) hit the No. 11 spot on the national top 30 with 670,000 viewers, a slight increase from the season two premiere.

The remaining top five performing programs for the week include the CTV evening news with 1.241 million; America’s Got Talent on Citytv at 1.105 million; Big Brother on Global with 1.102 million; and Sportsnet’s coverage of the Toronto Blue Jays with 1.069 million.

The Quebec francophone chart was once again led by wildlife program Un zoo pas comme les autres (Sphere Media) on TVA, with the game show La Roue de Fortune chez vous at No. 3.
