The Quebecor Fund has also allocated an additional $300,000 through its Export Assistance Program in partnership with the CMF.

The Quebecor Fund has selected two features from Attraction and A Média Films for its Film Production Assistance Program.

Attraction’s drama film Le Temps d’un été and A Média Films’ romantic comedy 23 décembre will receive a total of $480,000 in production financing.

Le Temps d’un été follows a priest who is on the verge of closing his church-turned-homeless shelter when he unexpectedly inherits property in the rural area of Lower St. Lawrence, east of Quebec City, and decides to take a group of homeless men and women there.

The rom-com 23 décembre tells a number of interweaving stories about disparate strangers who find themselves crossing paths two days before Christmas.

Both films will be distributed by Montreal’s Les Films Séville.

The Quebecor Fund has also allocated $250,000 to Montreal-based content producer and creative agency Urbania Média through the Export Assistance Program, which supports initiatives created for non-Quebec and international markets.
