Super Channel hosts The Parker Andersons on Heart & Home

The broadcaster has picked up the Canadian rights to marblemedia and Beachwood Canyon Productions' related sitcoms about a blended interracial family.

Super Channel has acquired the Canadian broadcasting rights to marblemedia and Beachwood Canyon Productions’ interconnected sitcoms The Parker Andersons and Amelia Parker.

The sitcoms, both 10 x 30 minutes, will premiere on the broadcaster’s Heart & Home channel back-to-back on April 19, with The Parker Andersons beginning at 8 p.m. ET, followed by Amelia Parker at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Both shows, which were greenlit by U.S. channel BYUtv last year, follow the lives of a blended interracial family. Episodes will be available on Super Channel on Demand the day after their linear broadcast.

The Parker Andersons, which stars Arnold Pinnock (Cardinal) and Kate Hewlett (The Stanley Dynamic), follows the blended family as they navigate living together. Amelia Parker focuses on the internal life of one family member, played by Millie Davis (Odd Squad), who hasn’t spoken since her mother died. The series were shot simultaneously in Toronto.

Anthony Q. Farrell is the showrunner on both sitcoms, which were created based on a concept by Frank van Keeken of Beachwood Canyon Productions. Both serve as executive producers alongside marblemedia’s Mark J.W. Bishop, Matt Hornburg, Carrie Paupst Shaughnessy, Beachwood Canyon’s Yolanda Yott and BYUtv’s Michael A. Dunn, Andra Johnson Duke, Melissa Puente and Jim Bell. Jim Corston is a producer, while marblemedia’s Donna Luke is co-executive producer.

Earlier this week Super Channel announced it would broadcast the Canadian Film Festival for its second year, which will open with Wendy Morgan’s Sugar Daddy and close with Kyle Thomas’ Range Roads.
