Blue Ant, Cineflix Rights sell Cancon to Spain, Latin America

Sales include Cineflix Productions' Property Brothers and Blue Ant's Mysteries From Above.

Blue Ant and Cineflix Rights have closed Cancon deals with Latin American and Spanish platforms leading into NATPE Global and Content Americas.

TVN Panamá has acquired a total of 284 hours of Cineflix Productions’ Property Brothers (pictured) and Mayday: Air Disaster. For Property Brothers, the acquisition encompasses the first five seasons, a Cineflix Rights spokesperson told Playback Daily. The deal also includes Holiday Homes in the Sun from Glasgow-based Raise the Roof Productions and L.A.-based GroupM Entertainment.

Teletica (Costa Rica) has acquired seasons one, two and five of Property Brothers following the brand’s launch in the country last year. In September 2024, Teletica acquired seasons three and four of the series.

Blue Ant Studios announced a raft of deals for its unscripted programming in Spain and Southern Europe.

Warner Bros. Discovery Spain has acquired three seasons of Mysteries From Above (30 x 60 minutes), which explores hard-to-reach environments via drone footage. The series was produced by Toronto-based Saloon Media, which was acquired by Blue Ant in 2018.

AMC Networks International Southern Europe, which operates channels in Spain and Portugal, has picked up a bundle of series, including seasons one to three of Best in Miniature (26 x 60 minutes), a competition series for miniature artists, and sand-sculpting competition series Race Against the Tide (40 x 60 minutes) Both series were produced by marblemedia, which merged with Blue Ant Studios in 2023.

The other series sold to AMC are David Rocco’s Dolce Southeast Asia (13 x 30 minutes), which focuses on the food cultures of the region, and seasons one to four of David Rocco’s Dolce Italia (52 x 30 minutes; 1 x 60 minutes).
