Forté Entertainment has added Veronica Saluzzi to its team in the newly created role of head of development.
Former senior development producer with Boat Rocker Media, the executive (pictured) started with the Hello Goodbye and Snapshots producer last week.
As head of development for the Toronto-based prodco, Saluzzi will create and shepherd a variety of original concepts from script to screen, overseeing an extensive and diverse slate of scripted and unscripted projects, collaborating with creatives and seeking out strategic partnership opportunities.
“Veronica is a seasoned and well-respected development executive with a fantastic track record and strong relationships with commissioners in North America and international markets. Her creative experience in both the scripted and unscripted spaces is a perfect match for our growing development slate and our strides into scripted television and movies,” said Forté Entertainment executive producers Andrea and Mitch Gabourie in a joint statement.
Of note, in her previous post with Boat Rocker, Saluzzi created and oversaw the development of international unscripted formats such as Late Nite Eats hosted by chef Jordan Andino. Further, she was part of the development team behind various scripted and factual productions such as Orphan Black, The Next Step, Vintage Tech Hunters and more.
In terms of Forté’s slate, the company is casting a new original factual series for BYUtv and Super Channel and in post-production on a new hybrid scripted and reality original series for Disney+.
Other projects include genre comedy series Zombie Kings, which sees filmmaking legend George A. Romero attached posthumously as an executive producer; co-producing feature film Bear Season with The Trial of the Chicago Seven executive producer J. Todd Harris; and a feature film and docuseries based on Canadian bank robbers The Stopwatch Gang.
