marblemedia underway on All-Round Champion’s junior season

Now in production in Toronto, the new season of the sports competition series sees Perdita Felicien return as host.

Toronto-based global entertainment company marblemedia has received an early greenlight for a junior season of sports competition series All-Round Champion (11 x 60 minutes).

Now in production in Toronto, notably, season two of the show tracking teen athletes as they compete against one another in a range of sports other than their own speciality is currently airing on BYUtv in the U.S. As well, All-Round Champion‘s sophomore season is expected to debut on TVOkids and Knowledge in Canada in January 2021.

Executive produced by Matt Hornburg, Mark Bishop, Steve Sloan, Michael Dunn, Andra Johnson Duke, Melissa Puente, Jim Bell and Marney Malabar, production on season three will continue through late December with the new round of episodes set to be released in late 2021. The company’s Donna Luke also serves as co-executive producer on the project.

For season three, Canadian Olympian Perdita Felicien will return as host, while former professional soccer player Dwayne De Rosario and professional tennis player Daniel Nestor will make guest appearances.

As well, 10 sports stars will coach this season’s cohort as they take on track cycling, gymnastics, inline skating, soccer, tennis, trampoline, pole vault, competitive dance, sport climbing and boxing.

A North American version of Norweigan public broadcaster NRK’s Best I Mest, All-Round Champion was officially announced in August 2019. Of note, earlier this year, the show was renewed for its second season ahead of its broadcast debut.

“We’re thrilled to announce a third season of All-Round Champion. This is a testament to our team’s ability to deliver something extremely special for audiences through aspirational storytelling,” said marblemedia co-CEO and executive producer Hornburg in a statement. “In all our competition series, we strive to take audiences on the experience with our competitors, showcasing their emotional and challenging journeys with all the highs and lows that come with winning and losing.”

This new season of All-Round Champion also follows a number of new greenlights for marblemedia.

For instance, this October, BYUtv commissioned two interconnected single camera scripted family sitcoms, The Parker Andersons and Amelia Parker, produced by marblemedia in association with Beachwood Canyon Productions.

As well, this summer saw CBC commission Race Against the Tide, a sand-sculpting competition series hosted by This Hour Has 22 Minutes actor and comedian Shaun Majumder. Also featuring expert judges, the series is co-produced with prodco Hemmings House.
