Red Arrow Studios International has sold Canada/U.K. coproduction Departure to France’s M6 Group.
The conspiracy thriller (6 x 45 minutes), produced by Shaftesbury and Greenpoint Productions in association with Corus Entertainment, will air on French TV networks W9 and 6TER, which are both owned by M6 Group.
The deal was finalized by Tobias Schulze, VP sales for France and German-speaking territories at Red Arrow Studios International, the show’s global sales agent.
The series, created by Vincent Shiao, has previously been picked up by NBCUniversal International Networks, which has sold the property to broadcasters in the U.K., Germany, Spain and Poland.
Departure stars Archie Panjabi and Christopher Plummer and tells the story of the disappearance of Flight 716, a passenger plane that vanishes over the Atlantic Ocean.
In Canada, the series will makes its broadcast debut as part of Global’s midseason lineup, though a premiere date has not yet been set. Also set for a midseason launch on the network is Nurses, produced by ICF Films and Entertainment One (eOne), in association with Piazza Entertainment.
Exec producers on Departure include director T.J. Scott, Malcolm MacRury and Shaftesbury’s Christina Jennings and Scott Garvie. Shiao is a co-exec producer on the series, while Patrick Cassavetti, Tina Grewal and Julie Lacey serve as producers.
