Former Shaw Media executive Nick Crowe has joined Blue Ant Media’s Saloon Media as a production executive.
Focused on developing new factual entertainment series and specials for the global market in his newly created Toronto-based role, the executive will report to Saloon Media managing director Michael Kot. His duties also include forging relationships and partnerships with both domestic and international partners and broadcasters.
Prior to joining the Toronto-headquartered prodco, Crowe served as an executive producer at Alibi Entertainment and as director, original factual content at Shaw Media. His credits include projects like Thank You, Canada (History Channel), Northern Gold (TVO), Spaceman (CBC) and Ice Road Truckers (History Channel). In a statement about Saloon’s new hire, Kot noted that Crowe’s track record of working closely with coproduction partners aligns well with the scope of projects the prodco is working on.
Last month, Blue Ant Media, which acquired Saloon in 2018, unveiled its 2019/20 schedule and slate. Projects from Saloon included Hotel Paranormal (8 x60 minutes), season two of The Weather Files (8 x 60 minutes) and previously announced series like The Witches of Salem (4 x 60 minutes) and Life Below Zero: Canada (8 x 60 minutes).
