The Banff World Media Festival (BANFF) has added showrunner Jed Mercurio to its list of speakers. The creator behind Bodyguard and Line of Duty will take part in BANFF’s “In Conversation With” series, marking the first North American speaking engagement for Mercurio.
The session, scheduled for June 10, will include discussions on Mercurio’s past and future projects and his perspective on the current industry, according to BANFF executive director Jenn Kuzmyk. Mercurio has previously created series such as Bodies, Critical, The Grimleys, Cardiac Arrest and Invasion: Earth.
This is the first “In Conversation With” session announced for the festival. Last week BANFF announced its first Master Class, highlighting the producers of the Lifetime documentary Surviving R. Kelly. The current list of BANFF keynote speakers include former Dreamworks CEO and Quibi founder Jeffrey Katzenberg, PBS president and CEO Paula Kerger, AMC president, entertainment networks Sarah Barnett and director, writer and producer Paul Feig.
BANFF will run from June 9 to 12.
