Toronto’s V71 has inked a deal with XYZ Films to represent U.S. sales on the feature film She Never Died. The film will be shopped around at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin this month.
The horror comedy, directed by Audrey Cummings and written by Jason Krawczyk, is a reimagining of 2005’s He Never Died with a female in the lead role. Filming wrapped in North Bay in June 2018. V71 sister company A71 Productions owns the Canadian rights to the film.
White Eagle Entertainment’s Jennifer Mesich produced the film. A71’s David Miller, Zach Hagen and Krawczyk of AES Productions, Dan Peel of Theatre D/Urban Post Productions and Bill Marks of Vortex Pictures are executive producers.
She Never Died joins a number of films on V71’s Berlin slate this year. The other titles include rock documentary Loud Krazy Love, drama Trouble in the Garden and heist thriller A Perfect Plan.
V71, formed in November 2017 ahead of the American Film Market, is a distribution- and sales-focused joint venture between Toronto’s A71 and Vortex Words + Pictures.
