eOne’s Armand Leo joins Blue Ice

The former SVP of global physical production joins the Toronto-based prodco as EVP of production and creative affairs.

armand leoArmand Leo has joined Blue Ice Pictures as EVP of production and creative affairs.

Reporting to Blue Ice president Lance Samuels, Leo will focus on growing Blue Ice’s slate of scripted originals for film and TV, with a particular focus on television.

Leo joins the Toronto-based prodco from Entertainment One, where he served as SVP of global physical production from 2011 to 2018.  He was responsible for overseeing production across the studio’s film, television and digital slates, most recently working with HBO on Sharp Objects and Corus on Mary Kills People. 

Prior to joining eOne, Leo worked as a film and TV producer. His credits include Rookie Blue, Saving Hope and Hairspray. 

Recent Blue Ice Pictures’ TV projects include the Russell Peters limited series The Indian Detective for CTV and BET’s In Contempt. On the film side, the prodco is currently in production on the Terry Sawchuk biopic Goaliedirected by Adriana Maggs. 

Blue Ice Group’s independent distribution arm, Blue Ice Docs, recently partnered with Hot Docs on a new financing initiative aimed at connecting investors with feature-length doc projects.
