CBC is in development with Toronto-based Indian Grove Productions on a reboot of the long-running courtroom drama Street Legal.
According to a CBC spokeswoman, the pubcaster is working with Indian Grove president Bernie Zukerman (Remedy) on six new episodes of the series.
Street Legal, which originally aired from 1987 to 1994, was an original in-house CBC production that followed the professional and personal lives of a group of lawyers at a Toronto firm.
It was one of the most popular series on Canadian TV, regularly pulling in more than 1 million viewers per episode at the height of its popularity. The series did well critically too, winning more 10 Gemini Awards over its 124-episode run.
Cynthia Dale (Working the Engels), an original member of the cast, is currently attached to the project.
Further details about the project were not revealed.
