High-flying Canadian procedural SkyMed is moving to Paramount+ in Canada following three seasons at CBC.

Paramount+ announced Wednesday (June 11) that the series was renewed for a fourth season, with production slated to begin this summer and continue through fall.

The first three seasons, currently on CBC Gem, will be added to Paramount+ in Canada in the fall with the streamers holding a shared window.

Seasons one through three of the Canadian medical procedural were produced by Toronto’s Piazza Entertainment in association with CBC and CBS Studios. Season four is produced by Piazza Entertainment in association with CBS Studios and Paramount+ in Canada. It is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

SkyMed follows medics and air ambulance pilots in Northern Canada attempting daring rescues while navigating interpersonal relationships. It was created by Julie Puckrin, who is an executive producer alongside Gillian Hormel and Vanessa Piazza. Rhonda Baker and Carrie Wilkins serve as producers.

Natasha Calis (Nurses) Morgan Holmstrom (Outlander) Mercedes Morris (Ghosts) Sydney Kuhne (Ginny & Georgia) and Aaron Ashmore (Ginny & Georgia) are reprising their roles. Additional casting announcements will be announced at a later date.

In addition to Canada, SkyMed season four will premiere on Paramount+ in the U.S., Latin America and Brazil, the U.K., Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

SkyMed was originally commissioned by Paramount+ in the U.S. in 2021 with CBC bringing it to Canada in its summer 2022 lineup.
