eOne inks first-look deal with Marwar Junction

Under the agreement, eOne will develop and produce unscripted content with the L.A.-based company behind A&E's documentary anthology Autobiography.

eOne has inked a first-look deal with L.A.-based unscripted producer Marwar Junction Productions.

Under the deal, eOne will develop and produce unscripted TV content with Marwar Junction, which is headed up by Joseph Freed (pictured right) and Allison Berkley (left). The prodco’s credits include documentary anthology Autobiography (A&E), pop-culture gossip series Bossip (WE tv) and the TV movie I Am Elizabeth Smart (Lifetime).

Freed and Berkley, who launched the Manwar Junction banner in 2012, are also executive producers on the upcoming doc series AMC Visionaries: Eli Roth’s History of Horror (AMC), set for release this fall.

Other projects on eOne’s alternative programming slate include Death Row Chronicles (BET), LA Burning: The Riots 25 Years Later (A&E), Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G. (A&E), Siesta Key (MTV) and Growing Up Hip Hop (WE tv).

In recent months, eOne has struck a number of first-look deals as the global studio looks to facilitate partnerships with top-tier creative talent on both sides of the border.

Last month, eOne lined up a first-look scripted deal with Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola’s U.S.-based King Bee Productions. In October, eOne also signed a multi-year TV production partnership with Toronto-based producer Vanessa Piazza (EP on Dark Matter and Lost Girl), who will develop and produce projects through her prodco Piazza Entertainment, with eOne serving as the studio and handling worldwide rights.
