Laval, Q.C.-based production company Beauty World Search has licensed the streaming rights for its English-language reality series The Fashion Hero (8 x 60 minutes) to New York media network Trace.
Trace, an Afro-urban media and entertainment group, acquired the non-exclusive rights for its digital and mobile services, which reach more than 60 million subscribers across Sub-Saharan Africa, U.S., France, the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean, according to the company. The series will also be available on Trace’s recently launched SVOD service, which operates globally in territories including the U.S., Europe, Brazil, Caribbean and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Hosted by Brooke Hogan, the series sees participants from around the globe compete before a panel of world-renowned designers, such as Anna Scholz and Christopher Bates, to feature in their upcoming international advertising campaigns.
In June, the series was picked up by Amazon Prime Video (in the U.K., U.S., Germany, Australia and all Nordic territories), while it also streams on Tubi TV and Vudu Movies on Us in the U.S. and airs on cable networks RTL2 (Hungary) and TLT (Venezuela).
Earlier this year, a number of European companies optioned the format rights to The Fashion Hero, including Spain’s Boxfish TV. Prior to that, Singapore-based distributor Bomanbridge Media acquired the finished series and format rights for the Asia Pacific region.
