Private Eyes is headed down south after American network ION Television acquired the exclusive U.S. TV rights to the detective series.
Under the deal, ION has picked up the 18-episode first season, as well as future seasons of the show.
Private Eyes is produced by eOne in association with Corus Entertainment and airs on Global in Canada. Season one debuted in May 2016 to an average audience of 1.4 million and went on to average more than 1 million (2+) viewers per episode, according to Corus.
The hour-long series was created by Tim Kilby and Shelley Eriksen and is executive produced by John Morayniss, Rachel Fulford and Tecca Crosby for eOne, Shawn Piller and Lloyd Segan for California-based prodco Piller Segan, as well as Shelley Eriksen, Alan McCullough, Tassie Cameron, Kelly Makin, and Jason Priestley. Eriksen and McCullough served as showrunners on season one.
ION has previously acquired eOne series such as Saving Hope and The Listener.
Season two of Private Eyes went to camera in October, with new episodes expected to air this spring on Global.
