Investigation Discovery has greenlit a new series from Montreal-based CMJ Productions.
In Guilty Rich (6 x 60 minutes), each episode follows the story of a super-rich criminal and the excessive lifestyle that went to their heads. The series is executive produced by CMJ CEO John Kuyk.
The new series agreement broadens CMJ Productions current relationship with the U.S. network, which is owned by Discovery Communications. CMJ Productions’ A Stranger in My Home has aired on ID for three seasons and Fatal Vows will begin its fifth season on the network this coming spring.
The deal comes on the heels of Montreal-based Attraction’s recent acquisition of CMJ Productions. Montreal-based Attraction, which specializes in French-language scripted TV, acquired CMJ and its catalogue of more than 550 factual titles, for an undisclosed amount in October of last year.
Guilty Rich will premiere on ID in fall 2017.
