Private Eyes debuts to 1.4M

The Global TV drama from eOne averaged 1.4 million viewers on each of its first two episodes.

Jason Priestley’s triumphant return to Canadian airwaves this spring is continuing, with a strong debut on Global for his new hour-long drama, Private Eyes.

The lighthearted series’ first two episodes each reached an average audience of 1.4 million Canadians (total, 2+) each on May 26 and June 2 respectively, winning the 9 p.m. timeslot nationally, according to Global via Numeris. (Priestley also starts in Raising Expectations on Family Channel.) 

The 10 x 60-minute series, which is produced by eOne in association with Global, stars Jason Priestley and Cindy Sampson as private investigators.

According to the broadcaster, the premiere episode was also a top six trending program on Twitter in both Canada and the U.S. on May 26. Global also announced that the series is the top property on both GlobalTV.com and Global Go.

Private Eyes is executive produced by John Morayniss, Rachel Fulford and Tecca Crosby, along with Shawn Piller, Lloyd Segan, Shelley Eriksen, Alan McCullough, Tecca Crosby, Tassie Cameron, Kelly Makin and Priestley. Shelley Eriksen (ContinuumFlashpoint) and Alan McCullough (Rookie Blue, Reign) serve as co-writers and showrunners.
