The CW’s close relationship with Canada and Canadian producers looks to be solid, as the net announced Friday it was renewing its entire slate of originals, including the Canadian-certified production Reign.
The net has given an early greenlight for season four of Reign, a period drama coproduced by CBS Studios and Toronto’s Take 5 and Whizbang Productions.
The number of episodes on order for this latest season has yet to be determined, as is its season-four launch date. The series will continue to be shot at Cinespace Film Studios’ Kipling location in Toronto, executive producer Frank Siracusa told Playback Daily. Reign is licensed to Bell Media in Canada. Executive producers on Reign are Siracusa, Laurie McCarthy, John Weber and Brad Silberling.
The CW also announced Friday it has re-upped a number of its British Columbia-shot series, including The Flash (season three), DC Legends of Tomorrow (season two), The 100 (season four) and Supernatural (season 12). Production for all these series will return to British Columbia for their new seasons, a CW spokesperson confirmed to Playback Daily.
