Boat Rocker Media’s distribution arm Boat Rocker Rights has acquired the worldwide distribution rights for a raft of series across Fox’s Xploration Station programming block from Steve Rotfeld Productions.
Under the deal, Boat Rocker will secure the rights to seasons one and two of forthcoming pop-science series DIY Sci (26 x 30 minutes), which features YouTube personality Steve Spangler using everyday items in scientific experiments; and Nature Knows Best (26 x 30 minutes), in which marine biologist and host Danni Washington discovers the latest scientific revolutions inspired by evolution.
The Toronto-based distributor will also control the rights of seasons three and four of returning series Awesome Planet (26 x 30 minutes), in which Philippe Cousteau Jr.– grandson of the legendary Jacques Cousteau – explores the most memorable places on Earth; and Outer Space (26 x 30 minutes), in which former NASA employee Emily Calandrelli explores the vastness of space.
Xploration Station marks the company’s first third-party factual acquisition.
Boat Rocker Rights, which serves as the global content distribution, sales and licensing team of the recently reorganized Boat Rocker Media, will represent all rights in territories worldwide, excluding the U.S.
