Production is underway on Montreal-based Incendo’s latest MOW, Amber Alert.
The feature film, directed by Philippe Gagnon (First Response, The Good Sister), stars Alaina Huffman (Stargate: Universe), Barry Flatman (Saw III, Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Damon Runyan (Cheaper by the Dozen, Degrassi: The Next Generation).
Amber Alert will air on Bell Media channels CraveTV, TMN and Super Ecran, and is executive produced by Jean Bureau.
The film follows detective Amber Cross as she battles with her estranged husband to retain custody of their young son. When Amber is called in to save a group of school children held hostage on a bus, she is realizes she may be able to save this group of children but not her own son.
The production marks a significant milestone for Incendo: its 60th production. It is slated to produce five MOWs this year, a format that has become Incendo’s bread-and-butter, but it is also a coproducer on Versailles, an estimated $32 million 10 x 60-minute historical drama that the Wall Street Journal reports as being the most expensive television series ever made in France. The series is produced by France’s Capa Drama and Canal Plus, along with Zodiak Media. The series is set to air on Super Channel in Canada.
Recently, its slate has included Swept Under (starring Devin Kelley and Aaron Ashmore), First Response (starring Dania Ramirez) and Kept Woman (starring Courtney Ford).
As well as Montreal, Incendo also has offices in Toronto and L.A.
