HGTV Canada has picked up the latest Mike Holmes renovation show Home Free, set to bow on the Shaw Media channel on Wednesday, July 22 at 9 p.m..

The show, produced by Beverly Hills-based Relativity Television,  will feature nine couples renovating eight homes over an eight week period. Canadian contractor Holmes, who has also starred in Holmes Makes It Right and Holmes on Holmes, will advise and critique each tool-handy couple on their renovation work.

All nine couples will also have to live in the same partially-completed home throughout the run of the competition. Ultimately, the couple to survive each weekly elimination challenge will win a home of their own.

In April it was annouced that Home Free was headed to Fox in the U.S. The series is distributed globally by Electus International .

Home Free is executive produced by Tom Forman, George Verschoor, Trice Bartow, Brad Bishop, Andrew Marcus and Holmes.
