Veteran CBC exec Susan Marjetti has taken the top post at the CBC’s radio and audio division following the departure of Chris Boyce earlier this year.
A former CBC journalist and programmer, Marjetti was most recently senior managing director of CBC Toronto and the Ontario Region.
Within the company, Marcetti has been recognized for building programming to reflect Toronto’s diversity and multiculturalism.
Under her watch, CBC Radio’s flagship morning show, Metro Morning, has increased its ratings and the pubcaster has called her a “co-champion” of the Rubin Report, which was issued in the wake of the Jian Ghomeshi affair, calling for stronger management controls, especially in cases regarding workplace harassment.
She is replacing former CBC radio head Boyce, who took a leave of absence in January this year following Ghomeshi’s dismissal.
