CBC has expanded its ad-supported streaming portfolio via the launch of two FAST channels dedicated to Heartland (Dynamo Films, SEVEN24 Films) and Murdoch Mysteries (Shaftesbury).
The channels will run episodes from 17 seasons of each series, respectively. They are available now on CBC Gem and are launching on connecting TV platforms in the months to come. They join CBC Comedy as part of the network’s FAST lineup.
Heartland is a family drama set in the titular horse ranch in Alberta, based on the books by Lauren Brooke.
Murdoch Mysteries, CBC’s most-watched show in 2023, is set around the 1900s, focusing on a case of the week in the age of invention. Notable guest stars on the long-running show have included William Shatner, Margaret Atwood, Geddy Lee, Chris Hadfield, Ed Asner and Nick Nurse.
Both shows will premiere their 18th seasons on CBC TV and CBC Gem as part of CBC’s fall lineup, with Heartland debuting on Gem on Sunday (Sept. 29) and Murdoch Mysteries landing on Gem on Monday (Sept. 30). Their linear debuts are Oct. 6 and 7, respectively.
