The cast for the U.K./Canada copro Houdini & Doyle has been announced, with Michael Weston and Stephen Mangan set to topline the series and Canadian actress Rebecca Liddiard cast as the first female constable to work for the London Metropolitan police force.
Production on the series from the U.K.’s Big Talk Productions and Shaftesbury is set to start this summer in Manchester before moving to Canada this fall. The first season of the drama will include 10 episodes, and was ordered straight to series for ITV Encore in the U.K. and Shaw Media’s Global in Canada. Houdini & Doyle is liscensed to Fox in the U.S., and is set to premiere in Canada, the U.K. and the U.S. in 2016.
American actor Weston, who takes on the role of Harry Houdini in the series, previously appeared in House, Six Feet Under, Elementary and The Office. English actor Mangan will play Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. He currrently appears in Episodes and previous credits include Green Wing and I’m Alan Partridge.
Liddiard recently appeared in Don Caromdy Television’s Between and MsLabelled, a branded content series from Shaw Media, Shaftesbury’s Smokebomb Entertainment, agency shift2 and Schick Quattro for Women. She is represented by Noble Caplan Abrhams.
