Entertainment One (eOne) Monday morning announced a major reshuffle in its film group, revealing the departure of current film group head Patrice Théroux.
He is replaced by Steve Bertram, who arrives at eOne as president, global film group, overseeing the company’s film operations. He most recently led new business development and operations at the U.S. studio giant and reported to DreamWorks’ CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg.
In a release announcing the shuffle, it was only said that Théroux, the founding president of eOne’s Filmed Entertainment division and who helmed eOne’s takeover of Alliance in 2012 alongside Darren Throop, is leaving to pursue other opportunities in the industry. Théroux joined eOne in 2007.
Théroux will continue to work with eOne through a film and TV development deal, the company said.
“While it’s very difficult to bid adieu to eOne, I know that I leave each our film teams in the very strong and capable hands of our division leaders,” said Théroux in a statement. “I am proud of the business we built and the very many talented partners I had the fortune of working with at eOne, relationships that will undoubtedly continue, and I am looking forward to my next adventures,” said Théroux. “I would like to thank my partner Darren Throop for his support, dedication and trust as we brought our vision to life.”
