Cameras will roll this week on Unearthing, a feature film from co-directors Jon Deitcher and Natalino Lattanzio that will mark the first project for actor Julia Sarah Stone after she was named one of 2014’s TIFF Rising Stars.
Other cast attached to the project include Tim Rozon (Long Done Day, Schitt’s Creek), Chloe Rose (Degrassi: The Next Generation), Jodi Balfour (Bomb Girls, The Husband), Roberta Maxwell (Philadelphia, Brokeback Mountain) and Nicholas Campbell (Da Vinci’s Inquest).
The film will be shot over 14 days in the Sudbury area on a budget of about $1 million, said Timshel Pictures’ president Justin Kelly. Unearthing received financing from private investments, tax credits and Breakthrough Entertainment, which will distribute the film.
In addition to Kelly, Unearthing is produced by Hideaway Pictures’ David Anselmo, and Karen Koornneef. The prodco Breaking Ground Media is also attached to the project. The film was written by Jamie Taylor.
