Tricon Films & Television
Tricon Films & Television has sold a number of select episodes of programs to various inflight entertainment services, including Architect Films’ Extreme Collectors and Decked Out.
The IFC series The Birthday Boys and Maron were purchased by Spafax for Air Canada, while The Spoils of Babylon was picked up by Air Lufthansa. Other IFC series sold for inflight entertainment include Comedy Bang! Bang!, which was sold to AV Jet’s Transasia Airways. IFC’s The Spoils of Babylon was picked up by Inflight Productions for Air New Zealand and Thai Airways.
On Board International also purchased a number of factual series from Tricon, including Castlewood Productions’ Birth of a Car, Tricon’s Game Changers and Restaurant Takeover, Bellum Entertainment’s Now Eat This, Blink Media Works’ Get Connected, HSM’s Mark It, Neomotions’ Born to Run, Architect Films’ Extreme Collectors, Water Productions’ GRR TV and On the Spot. These series will air on Saudi Air.
Other factual series sold include HSM’s Innovation Lab to Spafax for Air Canada and Catay Pacific, and Donut Showdown to Air Canada. Extreme Collectors was picked up by AV Jet for Eva Air, while AMP International bought Architect Films’ Decked Out for Air Transat. Ocean Entertainment’s Spice Goddess was sold to Interact Productions for Malindo and Batik Air.
Inflight Productions also picked up HitRecord on TV!, a collaborative variety show from PIVOT directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who also stars in the show. The series will appear on Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways inflight entertainment. The company also bought Inocente, to air on Qatar Airways.
Peace Point Rights
Peace Point Rights has sold the documentary Takedown: The DNA of GSP (1 x 90′) to several U.S. video-on-demand and pay-per-view providers.
The documentary, which follows the life of MMA star Georges St-Pierre, was sold to iN DEMAND, Vubiquity, DIRECTV, DISH, and the Cox Business/Hospitality Network, which is offered in casinos and resorts. The documentary will be available to view on these providers in September.
Fighting sports media agency Fighting Spirit facilitated the deals. The company has a distribution partnership with Peace Point Rights for the documentary.
Takedown: The DNA of GSP is produced by Jimmy Lee, Triplex Films and Upside Down Media Group. The feature is co-directed by Peter Svatek and Kristian Manchester.
Pacific Northwest
Pacific Northwest Pictures has picked up all Canadian rights to director Gary Hawe’s mockumentary Leap 4 Your Life, as well as the Canadian rights to the Juliette Binoche-starrer A Thousand Times Goodnight.
