Former Alliance Films and Entertainment One executive Naveen Prasad has joined Elevation Pictures to oversee distribution, sales, and operations across all media.
Prasad becomes EVP and general manager, joining Elevation, which is led by co-presidents Laurie May and Noah Segal, as the indie distributor continues to grow its film release slate and profile after the Berlin and Cannes film festivals.
He was most recently SVP of TV and online at eOne Films Canada.
Prasad also oversaw TV and digital activities at Alliance Films, which produced Undercover Boss Canada, before that indie distribution outfit was acquired in January 2013 by eOne.
Elevation’s recent releases include the genre film Oculus that was released in the U.S. by Relativity Media, and the Tom Hardy-starrer Locke, released in the U.S. by A24.
The Toronto-based distributor’s upcoming release slate includes The Imitation Game, directed by Morten Tyldum, J. C. Chandor’s A Most Violent Year, and the Universal Studio film Incarnate by Brad Peyton.
