Bell Media has acquired the French supernatural drama The Returned for its Space channel.

The French-language zombie tale, entitled Les Revenants on Canal Plus, will be subtitled on Space.

Bell Media acquired the Canadian rights from Zodiak Rights, which is selling the French drama into the world market.

The sci-fi series is set in a French mountain town where a group of men, women and children create confusion when they attempt to return to their homes, not yet knowing they are zombies.

Space plans a fall debut for The Returned, which has also been sold to Channel 4 in the U.K. and The Sundance Channel in the U.S. market.
