Crave has greenlit the horror-fantasy series Les Maudits from Quebec City-based prodco Parallaxes.
The 6 x 60-minute series will be produced in association with Bell Media and begin filming in spring 2025. A launch on Crave is planned for later that year.
The series is adapted from Edith Kabuya’s (pictured) eponymous novel trilogy, which follows a teenager who is savagely attacked and killed, only to be brought back to life by a family friend. Kabuya also serves as head writer, a Bell Media spokesperson told Playback Daily.
More details on the series will be announced in the coming months.
The series marks Crave continuing to showcase local talent while exploring different genres, Suzane Landry, Bell Media’s VP, content development, programming and information, said in a statement.
Les Maudits will be Parallaxes’ second produced drama series after La Dérape.
