Carlos Pacheco appointed Boat Rocker director of partnerships

Temple Street Productions has appointed Carlos Pacheco as director of partnerships for its recently launched Boat Rocker Studios.

Reporting to Temple Street Media Ventures VP Michel Pratte, Pacheco’s key mandate will be to develop tools and support services for creative talent and ensure that Boat Rocker provides value to both creators and brand partners. He will be responsible for forming partnerships with emerging and established YouTube talent, and brands looking to create original digital content. In addition, Pacheco will also oversee the renovation of Boat Rocker Studios in downtown Toronto.

Pacheco was most recently digital director at Just for Laughs, where he oversaw building new business strategy, managing and optimizing multiple YouTube channels, including JFL Gags, and generating content distribution deals with partners. Prior to joining JFL, he was a media strategist at Cossette Communications and Touché! PHD.

Orphan Black producer Temple Street Productions launched its Media Ventures division in June as part of the company’s expansion into original digital content. Soon after, Media Ventures announced the creation of Boat Rocker Studios, an original digital content studio. The studio, working with YouTube, will create a hub for online creators to collaborate and receive business support and expertise to produce next-gen content.

Boat Rocker, located in Temple Street’s new downtown HQ, is slated to open its doors in Q1 of 2014, as renovations on the production facility continue through the fall.
