Toronto-based Temple Street productions has promoted Michel Pratte to VP of the newly-formed Temple Street Media Ventures.
Pratte, who was previously Temple Street’s director of strategy and business development, will lead the company’s expansion into original digital content.
“For years we’ve wanted to become more active in supporting the creation of original content for ‘new’ media, a term that is quickly becoming dated,” said Temple Street co-presidents Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier in a statement.
“We’ve enjoyed success with web-based projects that we produced to support our television projects, but we’ve been looking for the opportunity to really dive into non-traditional content creation. For a variety of reasons, we think the time is right for Temple Street to move aggressively into this space, and we think Michel is the perfect choice to lead the way,” they added.
“Michel has been with Temple Street since 2008 and has excelled in various corporate development roles. He brings with him the unique and invaluable combination of strong business acumen and a comprehensive understanding of the creative development process,” said managing director John Young in his own statement.
Media Ventures will focus on creating new opportunities and forming partnerships in the digital landscape.
Pratte will begin building a team to develop digital projects that use new and emerging technologies.
