The Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television will collaborate with NBCUniversal and Toronto’s Soho House for this year’s Academy Broadcaster Pitch Series.
The industry discussion forum and series of events will be led by programming execs for professional development of Academy members, Soho House members, and top-level producers and media creators..
The events, six in all, will focus on a specific network, with insight about what broadcasters look for in new content, and how to prepare a successful pitch.
The first event will take place March 19, 2013, featuring CBC executive in charge of production Patrick O’Sullivan.
The announcement of the revamped series, with a U.S. partner and in a new location, comes as the Academy preps for this week’s series of industry galas during Canada Screen Week and the inaugural Canadian Screen Awards on Sunday, March 3.
The news also follows the Academy in January rebranding its Academy Breakfast Club sessions.
