The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) has penned a string of international sales for Ariel Nasr’s documentary The Boxing Girls of Kabul (pictured), which is playing this week at Hot Docs in Toronto.
The film was fully financed by the NFB and produced by Annette Clarke, and has been acquired in the U.S. by In Demand; in French Canada by TV5; for Latin America Pan Regional TV by Direct TV and DLA; in Israel by DBS; in Korea by KBS; in France by France Televisions; in Russia by 24 Doc; and in Japan by NHK.
The doc looks at a group of young Afghan women who are aspiring boxers, and the tenacious coach encouraging them to pursue their dreams.
